Seyedreza (Reza) Fattahi Massoum is a Ph.D. candidate in aerospace science and engineering at the University of Toronto Institute for Aerospace Studies (UTIAS). His research focuses on energy efficiency and optimal control design for multirotor-slung load systems and electric vertical takeoff and landing (EVTOL) aircraft. Reza completed his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in aerospace engineering at Sharif University of Technology in 2017 and 2020, respectively.
Some of his volunteer work includes serving as a member of the Governing Council of the University of Toronto, contributing to several of its boards and committees, as well as on the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering’s Council. He has also served as an executive member of the Graduate Engineering Council of Students, led the Aerospace Students’ Association as President, supervised summer interns, and mentored high school students in the Aerial Robotics Club outreach program
