Simran Bakshi is a first-year student at the Lincoln Alexander School of Law at Toronto Metropolitan University where she is completing her Juris Doctor degree. Her interest in policy research began in 2019 when she was provided the opportunity to conduct a 149-study scoping review which analyzed knowledge, misconceptions, risk perception, and behaviour change during pandemics which was published in the peer-reviewed journal, the Public Understanding of Science. Since then, she has gone on to publish various scientific-based book chapters and healthy policy papers in international peer-reviewed journals. She continues to pursue research opportunities which prioritize knowledge mobilization and systemic reform. In her free time, she loves exploring new cafés in Toronto and travelling around the world.
